To beware of 'Famished,' is to beware of another youth company on 
the loose at another Fringe year, albeit in its best musical 
traditions! The opening of Famished, the Victorian comedy musical,
is witty and there is a surfeit of posh, well spoken, theatrical 
ladies onstage. Its all all right really as they are all sending 
themselves up wonderfully! Its another exploration of the 'zombie'
theme in contemporary popular theatre which is darkly amusing and 
in the most satirical manner possible. It may well also represent
a travesty of good taste but as it does so with flair and 
considerable entertainment value, its succession of unlikely 
characters and unreal scenarios are to be darkly enjoyed. Famished
has a rock 'n' roll and rock-chick accompaniment perhaps hitherto
unseen on a Fringe stage in a Victorian comedy. It also consists
of lots of over-acting, some charming hamming and brilliant ad-libs
from the 'Irish soothsayer' possibly others, its hard to tell! 
It also features the most louche stage prostitute ever seen, who
even as one of the 'legion of the undead,' remains poxily appealing!
With added free badges and chocolate as you leave, don't resist 
seeing it!
