20 08 07 - This invitation, 'performer event' was a collaboration
between the Festival Fringe Society and the Australian High 
Commission to celebrate Australian artists and companies
contribution to the 61st Edinburgh Fringe. Compered by Jim 
Jefferies the Spieglegarden event was meant to be a showcase of
the finest Australian talent at this years Fringe. An excellent 
idea but for various reasons the show was unable to muster some 
of Australia's best and so audience response was at points a little
muted. However opera-burlesque star Ali Mcgregor, stand-up Lawrence
Leung and the 'Sound of Music Drag Show' together with Jim 
Jefferies, redeemed the attempt and lifted it up to somewhere closer
to where it should have been.
