The performers seemed to double for technical crew as they moved about the tripod structures that made up the installation. At the top of each structure were sirens and red led's mounted on armatures that were to spin once activated. The sound and light show to be better appreciated once the drill hall lights were extinguished. The structures were evocative of an illustration of Martian invaders from 'The War of The Worlds.' As the performers brought each of the structures to life, the hall began to fill with a harmonious but none the less disconcerting and disorientating, modulating sound. This would vary with the audiences distance from and position relative to them at any moment leading to a sort of textured architectural sound experience. The full effect was best appreciated in the darkness and the audience seemed to enjoy moving around the installation until the performers ended the show by deactivating them in turn. Overall an interesting but somewhat draining experience, the siren dance of mechanical firebugs. By John Vassallo
